Delete Account

You can delete your account directly in the app:

Step 1

Open the app and tap your profile icon (top right).

Step 2

Select "Legal".

Step 3

Tap "Delete Account" and confirm the deletion.

What happens when you delete your account?

• Your account will be permanently deleted.
• You will be removed from all groups.
• Groups with no remaining members will be deleted together with their content.
• If a group remains active and you were its owner, ownership may be transferred to another member.
• Recipes created by you in surviving groups will be deleted.
• If another user previously copied one of your recipes, that copied recipe may remain as it is part of that user's independent content.
• Your account data (phone number, email address, and name) will be removed from the live service.

Limited retention

Some data may remain after account deletion under the following limits or criteria:
• Content reports, moderation records, and support or feedback submissions may be kept for as long as needed to investigate a case, prevent abuse, or maintain legal records. Direct links to your live account are removed.
• Previously stored crash, diagnostic, and performance data may be kept for up to 90 days.
• Irreversible hashes created with a secret key from your phone number and social sign-in identifiers are generally kept for 24 months from the last time they were seen to prevent starter credits from being claimed more than once.
• Minimal records needed to complete deletion at service providers remain until deletion is confirmed. Data in encrypted backups may remain for a limited period.

Store subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel or refund an App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription separately through the relevant store. You can still delete your Schmaus account while the subscription is active.

Alternative: via email

If you don't have access to the app, send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Delete Account" and the phone number or email address associated with your account. We will delete your account within 30 days.
